The Iowa Living magazines, the Iowa Living Weekly newsletters (former the Adviser and Square publications), and iowalivingmagazines.com are publications and a website of Big Green Umbrella Media, a locally owned media company. The print version of the Iowa Living magazines are mailed to all residential addresses in more than 14 central Iowa communities for free each month. The weekly newsletter is printed and distributed to area businesses and emailed digitally. The website offers additional news items and archives, all available for free.

Distribution is via saturation mail to all residences in the zip code(s) for free, and all are also available for free in full digital formats. 
Polk current
Our cover stories focus on local people, places and events and how they relate to local residents. The inside pages are heavy with photos, fact boxes and pull quotes for an easy and informative read. Various columns include local focuses on recipes, education, faith, health, fitness, dining and much more.

The readership of these magazines is unmatched, reaching individuals in more than 7.5 out of 10 households. Each magazine is packed with local stories and photographs, as well as advertising from local businesses. And, most importantly, nearly 69 percent of our readers say they purchase products and services from ads seen in our magazines.
Adel current
The Adel Adviser was purchased from Horizon Printing in 2017. Additional editions were then launched in Grimes, Johnston and Waukee. BGUM purchased the Polk City Square, an online community newsletter, from the Polk City Chamber of Commerce in 2020 and then expanded it with a print version. In 2021, these publications rebranded into Iowa Living Weekly.
